Tantalum capacitors, also known as Ta-capacitors, are surface-mount capacitors with an integrated anode and cathode, constructed within a tantalum cylinder and filled with the same type of combustible electrolyte used in aluminum electrolytic capacitors. As an anode material in these capacitors, a porous layer of tantalum is formed on their surface, increasing the capacitance. Tantalum capacitors are used mainly in portable communication devices and audio/video equipment as a means of energy storage and energy transfer.

M39003/03-0126/TR is a specialized digitized tantalum capacitor designed for use in wireless and digital communications systems.
