This principle states that the electric charge is distributed differently in the dielectric material of a capacitor than it would be if the material were an insulator. Due to this difference, a voltage differential is established between the two poles of the capacitor. When a voltage is applied to the capacitor, the electric field within the dielectric material changes, which in turn alters the capacitance of the capacitor. The M39003/03-0429H capacitors have a unique construction that makes them ideal for use in high-voltage and high-temperature applications. The construction consists of a solid tantalum core surrounded by two layers of manganese dioxide (MnO2).
