Tantalum Capacitors
Tantalum capacitors, also known as liquid tantalum capacitors, are one of the most reliable and widely used capacitors in the world. They are used in a wide variety of applications, from communication systems to computers and medical equipment. The M39003/03-3051/HSD is a type of tantalum capacitor and is used in a variety of applications.
Applications
The M39003/03-3051/HSD is a high-capacity, low-leakage tantalum capacitor used in many high-reliability applications. It is ideal for aerospace, avionics, military, and high-temperature environments. It is a popular choice for power supplies, pulse generation, and noise suppression applications. It can also be used in medical equipment, automotive systems, and telecom applications. It is often used to filter signals and for decoupling applications.
Working Principle
Tantalum capacitors work on the principle of electrochemical oxidation. The two electrodes of the capacitor are made of tantalum which is partially dissolved in a solution of phosphoric acid. When a current is applied between the two electrodes, a metal oxide film is formed at the cathode, while the anode remains in its original state. This creates an electrostatic field between the two electrodes and consequently an electrical capacitance. This electrical capacitance can be tuned by adjusting the amount of phosphoric acid in the solution.
The electrical capacitance of the M39003/03-3051/HSD is 0.1µF and it is able to withstand temperatures up to 175°C. It has a very low ESR (equivalent series resistance) and a long life expectancy thanks to its resistance to extremes of temperature and humidity. The low ESR makes it ideal for power supplies and decoupling applications.
Conclusion
The M39003/03-3051/HSD is a high-capacity, low-leakage tantalum capacitor used in many high-reliability applications. It is ideal for aerospace, avionics, military, and high-temperature environments. Its long life expectancy and low ESR make it an excellent choice for power supplies, pulse generation, and noise suppression applications.
