Working Principle

M39003/09-4053/HSD is an electrolytic capacitor with a smooth polarizing behaviour. The capacitor consists of a tantalum pellet or anode, which is generally sintered and a manganese dioxide slurry layer which acts as cathode as well as the dielectric. The cathode layer also injects charges in the capacitor since it is converted to a very high electric field. The changes of the electric field are responsible for the capacitance of the capacitor. As the capacitor is series connected in the circuit, the capacitor stores energy in the form of partially moving charges and forms a conductive bridge around the anode.

This particular capacitor is unique in both its small size and electrical characteristics. It offers high capacitance values which are up to 100uF with a high voltage of up to 6.3V. It is ideal for low voltage applications due to its very low internal leakage current and lower ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance).
