Working Principle

The M39003/09-4061/HSD tantalum capacitor functions much the same as any other type of capacitor. It stores electrical charge through the separation of two conductors and reacts to changes in the current flow. However, unlike standard capacitors, the M39003/09-4061/HSD uses a unique type of construction to achieve this; a solid electrolyte tantalum anode and an oxide cathode. The separation of the two foils causes a voltage to exist between them.
