The device also includes alarms, programmable power-saving functions, self-testing capabilities, and temperature compensation.The STM41T81MX6 supports both external and internal time and dates, allowing users to set time sensitive functions without being dependent on an external power source. Additionally, the device supports 8 user-programmable alarms and a total of 16 digital outputs although it is only capable of 8 outputs at any given time. The device is able to operate from 1.8V to 5.5V and provides accuracy of 2ppm or better, making it extremely dependable for reliable time keeping.The functionality of the STM41T81MX6 can be further extended with additional hardware and digitial logic to provide additional functions or to enable certain hardware specific functions. One such example is the ability to provide a visual identification of time passed, as the device can monitor up to 30 seconds, five to seven minutes and up to 30 minutes with programmable outputs. Additionally, it can be used to provide a visual indication of events, such as a waveform display, or a counter.The STM41T81MX6 can be freely programmed using the STM412MX6 registeres and supported software.
