RF Directional Couplers, albeit a simple component that is often overlooked, are a fundamental part of any Radio-Frequency (RF) system. At its core, an RF directional coupler is a three-port device consisting of two essentially identical ports, a coupled port, and a through port, coupled by a transmission line of a specific length. Among these, the coupled port serves as an output interface and the through port serves as an input through which power flows. By definition, RF directional couplers will only allow power to flow from the input to the output, and not vice-versa. This process results in a decrease in power flow between the input and output ports of the MACP-011015.
