1. Description

The MAX-8 series standard precision GNSS module has the reliable performance of u-blox 8 positioning engine, and can receive GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and SBAS signals. The MAX-8 series provides high sensitivity and the shortest acquisition time in an ultra-compact MAX size. The economical MAX-8 series has high sensitivity, low power consumption, and supports advanced power saving modes. It also provides message integrity protection, geofencing, fraud detection and odometer functions. MAX-8C is optimized for cost-sensitive applications with the lowest power consumption, while MAX-8Q provides the best performance. The industry-proven MAX form factor is backward compatible, so it is easy to migrate from MAX-7 and MAX-6 modules. The advanced RF architecture and interference suppression function ensure the best performance even in the harsh environment of GNSS. The MAX-8 series uses a small package that combines advanced integration capabilities and flexible connection options. This makes it very suitable for industrial and mass market end products that have strict requirements on size and cost. The DDC (I2C compliant) interface can provide connectivity and synergy with most u-blox cellular modules. The u-blox 8 module uses AEC-Q100 certified GNSS chips and is manufactured in an ISO/TS 16949 certified site. The qualification test is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the ISO16750 standard: "Road vehicles-Environmental conditions and testing of electrical and electronic equipment". MAX-8Q complies with green/halogen-free standards. u-blox MAX-8 modules can also benefit from u-blox AssistNow ancillary services. The online service provides GNSS broadcast parameters, such as ephemeris, almanac data, and time to reduce the first major repair time of the receiver and improve collection sensitivity.
