The MAX2424EAI+ is a low-power, duplex transceiver designed for RS-485 and RS-422 communication applications that require automatic data flow control via full-duplex collision detection. It is designed for transmission over twisted-pair cables with up to 128 (RS-485) or 32 (RS-422) nodes on a single bus. It is a low voltage transceiver, suitable for 3.3V operation and also available in 5V TTL compatible CMOS level. It is also thermally stable and ESD protected.

The primary application field of MAX2424EAI+ transceiver is networking, where it is widely used in Industrial Automation, Building Automation and Robotics. In Industrial Automation it is used for network connection of cameras, sensors and drives. Building Automation uses it for connection of control systems for elevator, HVAC, Lighting and Security.
