The MAX40200ANS+T OR controller provides a wide variety of application options.The device is primarily used in low voltage DC/DC converters, such as a buck-boost converters. It is also used in battery-powered systems as it is able to maintain a tightly regulated output voltage and current limit without the need for compensation circuits. The MAX40200ANS+T OR controller uses a comparator to sense the output voltage and adjust the gate charge of the downstream power MOSFET (or external control IC). The comparator also turns on the LED indictor.In Linear Mode operation, the current limit and voltage control are independent of each other. The current limit is set using a programmable current limit resistor or an external reference voltage, while the voltage control is set using a programmable voltage feedback network or an external reference voltage.In Logarithmic Mode operation, the current limit and voltage control act together, increasing the overall efficiency.
