MAX4080FASA+T is a low-noise, high-speed precision low-power voltage follower from Maxim Integrated. It can be used in a wide range of applications with its low power consumption, maximum input bandwidth of 1.7GHz and a slew rate of 26V/ns. MAX4080FASA+T is a single-supply amplifier that operates on a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V, with an output voltage range of 0V to Vdd-50mV. It can be used in precision applications such as high speed modulators, wideband amplifiers and data converter drives, or in power management, automotive and medical applications.
The MAX4080FASA+T offers low input offset voltage noise, voltage-controlled common-mode rejection ratio and wide common-mode range. It offers a low power-supply-current of 8 μA and a low quiescent power of 12 mW in the optimal power-efficiency configuration. It also provides protection against input-signal short-circuits and reverse power structures, and it uses a Schottky-diode current-limiting behavior for current protection. The MAX4080FASA+T offers fast settling time of 130 ns, fast response time of 6 ns, and excellent linearity with 0.01 % droop.

Working Principle
The MAX4080FASA+T is designed to provide a low-noise, high-speed, low-power gain forvoltage-controlled systems. It uses a high-gain differential input stage with a wide common-mode range to provide excellent dynamic performance. The MAX4080FASA+T also features a buffer arranged to minimise the input impedance and low-noise output drive. The output is directly driven by the input through the non-inverting gain stage. The non-inverting gain is provided by a bipolar or MOSFET-based transistor, depending on the requirements of the application. The gain is set by the ratio of the bias current and the base current, or by the ratio of the supply voltage and the current source, depending on the configuration.
The MAX4080FASA+T also features a differential operating topology for low-noise operation. The differential input is matched to the differential bias and reference current, providing a low-noise, high-accuracy operation. It also provides outstanding linearity with a dynamic range of 95 dB, and excellent common-mode rejection ratio of 100dB. The MAX4080FASA+T is also designed with protection against both input signal and power supply transient errors, making it suitable for applications where high-accuracy operation is required.
