Product Description

The MAX4391ESA+ is an advanced switched-mode power supply (SMPS) module with pin-programmable adjustable output voltage. Its maximum continuous output power can be up to 10W, and its non-isolated buck voltage converter can convert the input voltage up to 40V (36V with corresponding large package). Output power can be accurately monitored as the MAX4391ESA+ also features an output current monitoring function (obtained through an output voltage derivative voltage). This output current monitoring function ensures that the regulator is operated within recommended levels, thus protecting valuable components from being damaged due to over-current conditions.The MAX4391ESA+ module features a wide range of programming options and protection features. These features include adjustable output voltage (from 1.8V to 17V); adjustable output current, up to 1.4A; an integrated Soft-Start feature for gradual startup; output voltage monitoring; short circuit and overcurrent protection; temperature monitoring; input and output overvoltage protection; and low standby power consumption (35mW).

Working Principle
