The MAX4550CAI/T are an optimized Cascaded Analog Switch (CAS) family that integrates a maximum of 8 general purpose switches with interface and 5 cascaded super switches with special-purpose features. The device implementing the CAS technology consists of a series of parallel connected Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect-Transistors (MOSFET) which act as a switch, connected to a single series resistor. The device can thus provide a single pole double throw (SPDT) electromechanical switch, providing a low on-resistance and low off-state leakage current.

The MAX4550CAI/T is suitable for a variety of applications such as sample and hold, multiplexers and mutual switching of signals.
