MAX481EESA+T

The MAX481EESA+T is an RS-485/RS-422 transceiver interface IC designed by Maxim Integrated. It is a low power device designed to meet the requirements of both RS-485 and RS-422 standard serial communications. The MAX481EESA+T features low power consumption, low input/output offset, and excellent noise immunity. It is available in an 8-pin, 150 mils SOIC package.

The MAX481EESA+T can be used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications. The device provides a full-duplex, half-duplex, or half-duplex-ready communications interface for a variety of RS-232 /RS-485 or RS-422 systems. The device can be used to interface a wide variety of microcontrollers, computers, and other serial communication devices such as PLCs and remote sensors. The MAX481EESA+T contains two complementary differential line drivers and two complementary differential line receivers. The line drivers feature high-output-current capability, high data rates, wide common-mode voltage range, and low offset voltage. The line receivers feature low offset voltage, low input bias currents and accurate thresholds. The MAX481EESA+T is capable of data rates up to 250kbps, ensuring reliable transmission of data, even over long distances. The device also features an enhanced ESD protection circuitry that protects against electrostatic discharge up to 15kV HBM.

The MAX481EESA+T has several operating modes. When in the AutoSend mode, it can be used to enable echo suppression and power line interference immunity. The MAX481EESA+T can also be used in a Fail-Safe mode which ensures that no data can be transmitted when power is not available. The device also has a Very Low-Voltage mode that allows communication with Voltages as low as 3.0V.
