MAX5028EUT-T is a DC-DC switching regulator in PMIC - Voltage Regulators - DC-DC switching regulators. It is designed to meet the features and requirements of high-performance applications, such as 4G/5G communications, high-end computing and storage, storage, active cooling/thermal systems, and other high-end linked network and communication.The MAX5028EUT-T is a synchronous buck regulator with an input range of 3.3V to 42V and output voltage options from 0.8V to 24V. It uses a two stage-system to regulate the output voltage, with a low-side MOSFET and a high-side MOSFET working together. When the input voltage is higher than the output Voltage, the low-side MOSFET is switched on, while the high-side MOSFET remains off. When the output voltage is higher than the input voltage, the high-side MOSFET is switched on, turning the low-side MOSFET off to create a current path from the input rail to the output rail. As such, the MAX5028EUT-T is able to achieve a very high efficiency of up to 95.5%, even at very low input voltages.The output voltage can be adjusted with the voltage programming input pin (V prog). The voltage programming input pin is used to adjust the current-limit (I limit) and the pulse-width modulation voltage (PWM). In addition, the MAX5028EUT-T integrates a low-dropout linear regulator (LDO), which has an adjustable output voltage that can be used to power the control loop and auxiliary circuitry. Furthermore, the MAX5028EUT-T also integrates an over-current protection, an over-voltage protection, a soft start, a ripple filter and an active-frequency-shift mode. The active-frequency-shift mode is used to reduce the high-frequency switching losses at low load currents and to minimize output ripple at high load currents.In summary, the MAX5028EUT-T is a highly efficient DC-DC switching regulator that is ideal for applications that require higher efficiency rates or simpler circuit design.
