The MAX5035DASA+ is a synchronous buck regulator that operates from a 2.7V to 15V input voltage range. The device is a step-down converter that delivers an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V to 5.5V. The regulator offers an integrated FET, with an adjustable switching frequency from 200kHz to 2MHz, power-good indication and thermal-overload protection. The device offers an adjustable DC load-regulation accuracy of 1.5%, a low-ripple mode up to 1.7%, and a low-noise mode of up to 1.3%. Maximum output current is 5A. It is designed to deliver a continuous power supply with a fast transient response, while maintaining the highest efficiency. MAX5035DASA+ regulates the output voltage of the load in two different ways: first, by regulating the voltage across a voltage regulator, and secondly, by regulating the current at the output stage. When the load current exceeds the reference current, the voltage regulator will reduce the voltage by reducing the output voltage. When the current is less than the reference current, the voltage regulator will increase the output voltage. When the load current is between the reference current, the voltage regulator maintains the output voltage steady.

The MAX5035DASA+ offers a good high-frequency noise performance. The device features the input ripple level of 97mV, the high-frequency noise level per bit of 35uV, and the low-frequency noise level of 40dB at 500Hz. This regulator provides up to 5mV of output tracking accuracy. The device also includes a 3rd harmonic distortion below 2%.
