Working principle:

The MAX538AESA consists of a digital input multiplexer, a comparator, an 8-bit DAC, a precision voltage reference and an output buffer. The digital input multiplexer allows for selection of 8 differential or 8 single-ended digital inputs. The comparator accepts the digital input and the DAC output, and generates an output signal proportional to the ratio of the digital input to the analogue output signal. The DAC generates an output signal based on the 8-bit inputs, which is also proportional to the signal selected from the digital input multiplexer. The output signal is amplified and buffered by the output buffer and is then delivered to the output. The precision voltage reference ensures the DAC\'s output is within the required accuracy limits, while the on-chip noise reduction circuitry eliminates any high frequency noise.
