The MAX5865ETM+ is a high-performance, 2-channel data acquisition Analog Front End (AFE) that allows the acquisition of signals directly into an integrated microcontroller, or a similar processor or FPGA. It offers fast, accurate, and reliable data acquisition, and features a variety of input sources, including analog signals, digital modulation formats, and a wide dynamic range.
The MAX5865ETM+ can acquire, sample, and transmit two independent channels of signals. It provides a wide bandwidth from 0-1 MHz, up to 5 MHz depending on the sample rate, and can handle data up to 24 bits resolution. Its low-power design makes it suitable for portable and embedded systems.
The MAX5865ETM+ supports single-ended or differential inputs from 0-5V, 4-20mA, 0-100mV, and 0-100V. It can measure DC values, and also support a variety of AC modulated signals such as sine, square, triangle and pulse waveforms. The MAX5865ETM+ has programmable filter settable bandwidths and is software configurable for multiple filter configurations.
The MAX5865ETM+ also comes with a built-in temperature sensor that allows it to measure temperature in the range of -20 to 125 °C (-4 to 257 °F). The MAX5865ETM+ also features an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that performs simultaneous A/D conversion of the two channels. The integrated ADC is compatible with 16-bit I2C, and can provide up to 24-bit resolution. The ADC is based on a low-noise, differential analog architecture, with an 8-channel input buffer that offers best noise rejection in the industry.
In terms of output, the MAX5865ETM+ offers the choice of digital I2C and SPI Communication. Data can be transferred from the ADC directly to a standard microcontroller, or a compatible FPGA. Additionally, it features a programmable clock output that allows the MAX5865ETM+ to be integrated into complex systems such as motor control and robotics.
