Voltage Regulation

The MAX608EPA features an integrated voltage feedback loop to regulate the output voltage. The voltage feedback loop maintains a constant output voltage during line transients, load transients, and temperature fluctuations. Its loop is fast enough to maintain stability with most ceramic output capacitors.

Synchronous Rectification

In addition to its internal feedback loop, the MAX608EPA includes a low on-resistance, 5V high-side n-channel power switch. To ensure low power dissipation from the power switch, the device includes a high-side N-channel MOSFET with a low RDS (ON), operating up to a 20V input voltage range. It also uses an efficient synchronous rectification technique, eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode. Furthermore, low power dissipation is maintained by controlling the power switch off-time with thevoltage on the SET pin.
