Then, the voltage regulator compares the voltage of the shunt resistor, which is set to 2.5 V, and the bandgap reference circuit feedback voltage. At the same time, the reference voltage is maintained by adjusting the amount of current going through the shunt resistor, which produces the output reference voltage that is sensed by the voltage regulator. When the output voltage drops, the voltage regulator will increase the current going through the shunt resistor until it meets the desired voltage.The MAX6138CEXR33+T’s shunt voltage converter is optimized for precision and power efficiency. It also features an ultra-low-power idle mode, an active-low reset output and a maximum output error of just 0.6 mV.
