Supervisors play an important role in modern power management products, from simple supply-voltage monitoring to implementing system reset and power-on reset functions, supervisors offer vital control capabilities for a system\'s power rail and peripherals. MAX6339MUT+ is an integrated supervisory and monitoring circuit designed for microprocessor, microcontroller and DSP applications. It combines accurate and low power supply voltage monitoring with error-detection features for up to eight independent inputs.

The MAX6339MUT+ combines a highly accurate (±1.25%) voltage detector and a differential voltage monitor, allowing it to detect power-supply faults, brownouts, and out-of-tolerance condition on one or more of its eight channels. When a fault is detected, it can output a reset signal onto a microprocessor or microcontroller, allowing the system to reset itself and attempt to recover without requiring human intervention. Additionally, it can also detect missing ground connections or excessive voltage levels, alerting the system that an unsafe condition has been detected. The device has an operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C and an undershoot detection range of -20mV or lower.

The MAX6339MUT+ employs a wide variety of different fault detection techniques, allowing it to detect and record anything from a warning signal to a hard reset. These include low-shift/high-shift monitoring, overvoltage/undervoltage monitoring, and window monitor activation. The device also has two user-configurable status latches that can be used to monitor events over a certain period of time.
