The MAX6604ATA+T device is a programmable, single-sense, thermal protection and management device. It provides protection from over-temperature conditions by activating external components with an optional overtemperature detection system. The MAX6604ATA+T implements the same over-temperature protection as the MAX6604a and MAX6604b, but provides the enhanced flexibility of additional GPIOs, a timer output, and a higher current sinking capability. In addition, the device features an improved temperature-to-voltage conversion rate and a lower operating temperature threshold.

The MAX6604ATA+T can be used in a variety of applications such as computing, telecommunications, consumer electronics, medical, and instrumentation systems. It can be used to manage various in-system temperatures, including thermal sensors, cooling fans, and heat sinks. With the ability to program a temperature threshold, the device can alert the system in the event of an over-temperature condition. The MAX6604ATA+T’s enhanced flexibility also allows it to be used for any kind of over-temperature sensing and protection for any system.
