Application Field and Working Principle

MAX668EUB+ operates as a DC-DC switching controller, implementing a synchronous buck with a single low-side switch. The controller is optimized for computing, datacom and telecom applications. The asic uses voltage-mode control and adaptive on-time. The operating frequency and pulse width and frequency modulation (PWM)/ pulse-frequency modulation (PFM) control can be set through externally-applied resistors.The MAX668EUB+ provides an integrated soft-start capability to minimize inrush current during startup and the input current limit slope is adjustable in 2-millisecond increments.
