Working Principle

The MAX680CSA+T is a switched-mode power supply (SMPS) that uses a buck-boost converter circuit to step down an input voltage (V_IN) to a fixed3.3V output (V_OUT). This is accomplished by using an internal oscillator to sculpt a switching waveform for the output voltage. The output voltage is set with an external resistor divider, and an internal feedback circuit monitors the output voltage to ensure that it remains at a constant level.
