Power management integrated circuit (PMIC), also known as power management chip, is a kind of integrated circuit (IC) which includes several power management functions. It is mainly used to manage the power supply of a system, and eliminate the need to use more than one chip to control the system power supply. Depending on its capabilities and functions, PMIC is generally classified into four different categories: voltage regulators, power converters, power supervisors, and interface controllers.

To prevent the outputs from randomly resetting, the MAX691ACPE+ also includes a low-leakage power supply rejection route and a latch-off circuit to keep the output signals low until the voltage returns above the reset threshold. This reset function and latch-off feature ensure that the system is reset only if it is really necessary and that the system continues to stay in the safe operating area.

The MAX691ACPE+ is thus a highly efficient PMIC for providing reliable power monitoring and maintaining power stability.
