The MAX817MESA+ is part of the PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) “Supervisors” product family from Maxim Integrated. This device is a low dropout voltage supervisor that offers excellent performance and reliability for a wide range of applications.

The MAX817MESA+ is a microprocessortolerant reset circuit that features an adjustable reset threshold and an independent low battery detector channel so a microprocessor can be reset without triggering a brown-out condition. Input voltage range is from 2.5V to 6V and the reset delat is adjustable from 1µs to 1000ms. This device provides reset status flag and an open drain active low reset output.

The MAX 817MESA+ integrates a low battery detector with a hysteresis of up to 2.6V that can be used to alert the microprocessor or reset the system when the power supply is close to failing or when the voltage is decreasing. It also provides a direct TTL/CMOS compatible LP_IN input pin that allows simple connection to an external battery or power source if desired. The MAX817MESA+ also features an active low open drain reset output that is capable of driving a load up to 40mA. This output can be used to reset the microprocessor or the system in case of emergency.
