Power management is an important and essential element for the proper functioning of any electronic device. This is because the power supply must be managed in an efficient manner for proper operation. So, it makes sense to have a specialized chip devoted to this purpose and that is where supervisors come in. One example of a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) is the MAX820TCSE+ supervisor, which is designed to provide over-voltage, under-voltage, and reverse polarity protection for single-supply systems.

Additionally, if the supply voltage is higher than the set threshold, the current supervisor will also shut down.
