The MAX8512ETA+ is a monolithic series/shunt linear voltage regulator designed for providing a wide input voltage range with output stability over a wide current range. This device is designed to help system designers to achieve cost, performance, and flexibility in their applications.

The MAX8512ETA+ employs a shunt regulator configuration with series-PTC load control. This enables the device to provide a low output voltage with a wide input voltage range. A unique shunt regulator topology provides a very fast response to changes in input voltage and current enabling the device to meet the demands of input voltage noise and high load transients of today’s mobile systems.

The device provides an adjustable output voltage as low as 0.9V and as high as 4.2V. A wide range of load currents can be accommodated from microamps to 150mA. In addition, this device is ideal for supplying regulators in parallel to a CPU or ASIC to provide power supply flexibility.

The MAX8512ETA+ is designed to operate in a wide temperature range from -40C to 85C, making it suitable for a variety of portable and battery-powered applications. The device is available in 10-pin TDFN, space-saving 3mm × 3mm package. This IC has a low operating current (IQ) of 120µA that helps to reduce power consumption.
