The PMOS transistor passes the current directly to the output, while the NMOS transistor acts as a current sink, taking the excess current and balancing the output. In case the input voltage fluctuates, the internal circuitry of the regulator adjusts its output voltage proportionally, ensuring a constant output. Moreover, the MAX8636ELA+ allows for an output voltage of up to 5.3V and a maximum input voltage of 8V.
