The MAX8792ETD+T belongs to the Power Supply Controllers, Monitors group and is a high-performance power supply management chip. The regulated output voltage can be adjusted by changing the reference voltage, as well as by adjusting the soft-start time. These features allow this chip to accurately monitor and control the power supply. The extended temperature range of 25°C to +150°C gives the MAX8792ETD+T an edge in rugged industrial applications. Low-dropout (LDO) compatible regulators and external resistors to boost transient response complement the chip’s features. Other features include cycle-by-cycle current limit protection, an integrated high-side FET driver, two general-purpose PWM outputs, and a 10-bit ADC for monitoring input voltage, output voltage and temperature. The fast shutdown feature minimizes undesired output voltage drop during shutdown. The integrated circuitry for in-rush control and power sequencing gives the chip the edge in applications that require electronic control/start-up of multiple power distribution channels with different voltages. The maximum output current of the MAX8792ETD+T is 2A. Operational voltage range is 2.6V to 6V. The chip offers a wide input voltage range of 0.1V to 6V. It also includes built-in ESD protection and ±45kV ESD rating. The MAX8792ETD+T is targeted for industrial and consumer applications such as servers and consumer electronics.
