MAX884CSA+

MAX884CSA+ is a general purpose low dropout (LDO) linear regulator feature rated 500mA with initial accuracy and high PSRR. It offers an excellent transient performance and provides good PSRR for noise-sensitive applications. The device operates with input voltage up to 30V and output voltage range from 1.2V to 26V. It utilizes P-channel MOSFET pass elements which offers excellent current sensing.

Application Field of MAX884CSA+

MAX884CSA+ is widely used in various applications such as CCD and line scan detectors, portable EMI sensitive applications, mobile, PDAs, digital audio, DVD players , digital cameras, cellular phones, portable instruments and other low voltage application.

It is also used in laser printer, diskdrive, battery charger, telecommunication and modem, automotive system and others application which use low voltage and low power.

Working Principle of MAX884CSA+

MAX884CSA+ is an adjustable, low dropout voltage regulator which offers seamless, continuous output voltage range from 1.2V to 26V with a single resistor, usually 1.2KΩ, to enables the device to precisely set the output voltage. The P-channel MOSFET pass element is used as the main switch in the regulation loop. When the input voltage drops below the output voltage, the regulator will increase its load current and keeps the output voltage above the dropout voltage.

MAX884CSA+ also features a low-noise, high PSRR. The low quiescent current draw and thermal shutdown protection helps to extend battery life in portable applications. The operating current is only 150μA and the power supply rejection ratio is greater than 60dB at 1KHz.
