The MAX9004EUB+ is a low-noise, low-distortion audio amplifier IC for stereo applications. It is a part of Texas Instruments\' portfolio of current-feedback amplifiers. This amplifier is available in a small, thermally efficient PowerPAD™ (16-Pin) type SSOP package.The MAX9004EUB+ is ideal for professional audio systems and headset applications that require extremely accurate, low noise and low distortion performance. It has the ability to drive 4W speakers, with low-power dissipation andRail-to-Rail output operation delivering superior SNR, THD, and SFDR performance in both channels.The amplifier’s feedback loop is optimized with a third-order Butterworth design to provide excellent linearity, exceptional overload recovery behaviour, and excellent temperature stability. A 12 dB gain range is provided in a single-ended mode. The MAX9004EUB+ has a differential input stage, which helps reduce common-mode noise that modifies the output signal. The differential input stage also helps improve the excellent Earphone Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) performance of the device. This is of obvious advantage when driving the outputs into low-impedance loads, such as earphones. To ensure low total harmonic distortion (THD) and total harmonic noise (THN), the amplifier must be capable of effectively driving large capacitive loads with high current.The MAX9004EUB+ delivers high current drive in a low-power consumption design, while also offering low distortion, low noise, and high open-loop gain plus great PSRR (power supply rejection ratio). The amplifier features a wide range of features to optimize system performance, including pop suppression, active bias, thermal shutdown, and mute.The MAX9004EUB+ is fast settling and easy to use, making it an ideal solution for audio applications requiring high fidelity with an optimal balance between noise, distortion, and power dissipation.
