The MAX9077EKA+T linear comparator is a single-channel, ultra-low-power, low-voltage comparator. This comparator can operate from a single 3 V to 5 V supply. The MAX9077EKA+T linear comparator is ideal for a range of applications, including battery-powered systems requiring accurate sensing, power-on reset and hold-up generator applications, battery switchover and monitoring functions, active pull-up and glitch filtering, as well as amplifier-based active power sensors.

It is also an excellent option for battery switchover and monitoring functions. The device can be used in active pull-up and glitch filtering. It can be employed as an active power sensor and amplifier.
Working Principle
The operation of the MAX9077EKA+T linear comparator is based on comparing two different voltage signals. A differential input voltage is applied to the comparator, with the output of the comparator being either a high or a low voltage level depending on the voltage level of the input signals. When the input signals have the same voltage value, the output voltage of the comparator is grounded. When the input signals have different voltage values, then the output of the comparator is a low or a high voltage depending upon which input signal is higher in terms of voltage value.
The MAX9077EKA+T linear comparator contains two high-gain, low-power operational-amplifiers. The comparator is connected to two input signals, i.e., VREF and the feedback signal, and it provides precise, low-power voltage-level sensing and switching. The comparator is designed to provide a precise voltage threshold and hysteresis to prevent false triggering. The hysteresis is adjustable with the resistors RA and RB, and the hysteresis range is between 30 mV and 250 mV.
The MAX9077EKA+T linear comparator offers high temperature and power-supply rejection and operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It also provides a low input-bias-current level, typically 600 pA, with the input bias current remaining constant over temperature.
