The MAX9122ESE+ is a low-power ESD-protected, 8-bit, single-supply transceiver for the Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 application. The contemporary high-speed serial data interfaces, such as USB 2.0, have stringent requirements on ESD robustness. The device helps to meet or exceed these interface requirements. The MAX9122ESE+ provides partial protection from discharge transients initiated from outside sources. This enables the device to meet a Human Body Model (HBM) of ±15kV ESD protection for the I/O pins and results in improved system ESD performance.
The device supports the high-speed zero stub-line encoder and decoder (ZSTED) technology, which not only improves low-speed operation and bus loading, but also lowers the driver-output phase delay and jitter. The device also supports full compliance to the USB 2.0 signal specifications by providing low-noise, high-edge-rate signal conditioning and double termination of the bus line.
