MAX9201EUE-T belongs to the linear – Comparators family. It is a dual-high speed comparator, offering high speed performance and low power consumption. The device is designed to replace dual-coil magnetostrictive actuators and find applications in automotive control systems, electronic locks and power supplies.

The MAX9201EUE-T has a wide input range, a wide power supply voltage range and a fast switching time. The device has been designed to offer low noise operation and low offset voltage. The device features a slew rate of up to 25mV/μs and a propagation delay of just 50μs. The device also offers excellent protection against ESD, overvoltage, and reverse battery conditions.

The device processes input voltages of up to ±20V through two independent inputs, CON and CZ. The supply voltage to the device can range from 2.3 to 5.5V. It also has a low quiescent current of only 5mA. The device uses a hysteresis current of only 20mA and a minimum voltage of 0.1V. Additionally, the device features a logic output, which can be enabled or disabled, depending on the state of the input.

The device works based on a differential amplifier circuit with two outputs, one for comparison and the other for feedback of input voltage. When an input voltage is applied to the two independent inputs (CON and CZ), the differential amplifier amplifies the difference between the two voltages and the output is then compared to an internal reference voltage. If the output voltage is greater than the reference voltage, the logic output is triggered and the device will then switch on. If the output voltage is lower than the reference voltage, the logic output will be disabled, and the device will be switched off.
