Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits
The MAX9276ACOAXEVKIT# is a high speed and low power evaluation and demonstration board specifically designed to control 4:1 high-speed MIPI D-PHY switch and enable the evaluation and demonstration of camera sensors and CSI-2 devices. This application board features the MAX9276 4:1 MIPI D-PHY switch, and MAX9271 2.5 GHz MIPI C-PHY to LVDS receiver, used to reduce the number of output ports from four to single in a 4-port switch layout.
This application board contains all the necessary components, for example the ATtiny461 microcontroller, UARTs, and local DC/DC power converters, to easily control the switch and to simplify the user’s evaluation and development efforts. The on-board components also include a MUX controlled by the ATtiny461 for loop-back tests, an LED indicating power on, and a high frequency oscillator for 100MHz reference input for the receiver.

Working Principle
The MAX9276ACOAXEVKIT# works by using the ATtiny461 microcontroller to communicate and control with the high-speed MIPI D-PHY switch via an I2C interface. The microcontroller then select and switches the D-PHY channel via the multiplexer according to the requested port.
The MAX9271 2.5GHz MIPI C-PHY to LVDS receiver chip is capable of receiving up to four lanes of data from the camera sensor. This chip is used to convert the data from C-PHY to LVDS signal format for further transmission to receiver. The MAX9271 is configured by the UART, controlled by IP and Firmware provided by Maxim Integrated.
The board features two High Frequency Oscillators (HFO) for input to the receiver as reference clock. One of these HFO is used as a 100MHz reference clocking the receiver which receives the LVDS signal from DS9058 differential output. This receiver output is connected directly to the FPGA or microcontroller used in the final application.
