The MAX9279GTN/V+T is an integrated serializer or deserializer (SerDes) which significantly reduces design complexity, reduces the number of components, and speeds up design time of high-speed serial interface design.
The product is primarily used in applications such as embedded systems, automotive infotainment, in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), as well as industrial and medical embedded systems. Additionally, it can be used to bridge between buses such as LVDS, MIPI, and PCIE. This SerDes can also be useful for applications such as JPEG 2000 video streaming and high-speed data transmission.
The MAX9279GTN/V+T operates off of a supply voltage of 3.3V and the SerDes regime of operation is determined by the channel type configuration. The serializer supports up to 8 data lanes and the deserializer supports up to 4 lanes. The device features both a 24-bit wide transmit port and a 24-bit wide receive port, each operating at a maximum frequency of 6.5 Gbps. It is capable of transmitting differential data between two devices through a single unidirectional signal pair.
The MAX9279GTN/V +T can operate in either a serializing or deserializing mode of operation. In serializing mode, the device receives 24-bit differential data in parallel into the receive port and transmits the data through two signal pairs in serial format to the transmit port. In deserializing mode, the device receives a serial bit stream into the receive port and transmits the data as a 24-bit wide differential in parallel to the transmit port.
The device supports data rates up to 6.5 Gbps and is capable of supporting multiple data protocols including LVDS, RSDS, TMDS and others. The device can also be configured for use in MIPI CSI-2, DSI, and D-PHY based applications. In addition, the device supports a wide range of features such as 8b/10b encoding and decoding, scrambled data, data framing, and others.
The MAX9279GTN/V+T features an integrated power management system, power-saving modes, digital phase-locked loop (DPLL) for reliable phase synchronization, wide voltage support, programmable loopback capabilities, soft TX/RX data rate control, and is compatible with industry JTAG and IEEE 1149 test standards.
