The MAX9286GTN+T device is a device used in the field of interface serialization and deserialization, used for high speed transmission of data. In this application field, the MAX9286GTN+T is able to convert high frequency data signals into a form that can be used efficiently by high frequency receivers or transmitters. It is able to transmit data up to 28 Gbps over an 8-lane parallel interface and is backward compatible with previous fiber optic standards.

The MAX9286GTN+T takes in a multi-lane high speed serial data stream, serializes it, and then transmits it out on a single lane differential pair. This differential data is then received by a corresponding MAX9286GTN+T device and deserialized back into a multi-lane parallel data format. The MAX9286GTN+T also provides an internal 8:1 mux/demux allowing up to 8 high speed data streams to be multiplexed into a single lane. This level of multiplexing allows the MAX9286GTN+T to achieve the market leading 28 Gbps data rate capability.

The MAX9286GTN+T is a HotSwap programming technology that provides a low latency power-on reset (POR) in an advanced lowvoltage CMOS process. This device also features a patented voltagemode output style for superior timing performance. The device also features a small footprint and low power consumption, making it suitable for use in cost-sensitive or power-sensitive applications.

The MAX9286GTN+T operates over a wide range of supply and input voltage levels and is also backwards compatible with previous-generation fibre optic standards. It has a wide transmit bandwidth range of 28 Gbps with a bit error rate (BER) of 1x10-12. It also features jitter attenuation up to 1.6 UI and excellent common mode performance.

The MAX9286GTN+T also integrates an on-chip termination (OCT) resistor to reduce EMI noise generated by reflections on the output. This OCT is precisely trimable to match the line impedance and minimise EMI noise. The device supports a wide range of common standby modes and includes a soft disable function that ensures all outputs are tri-stated when power is removed.

In terms of operating temperature, the MAX9286GTN+T can operate in a range of -40°C to 85°C and is housed in a RoHS-compliant 6mmx6mm package. It also features an integrated flexible power management scheme that offers efficient power dissipation.
