The MAX9371ESA+ is a dual-channel, high-speed, 1.8V logic-level translator with integrated termination (ESD) protection. It translates digital logic signals between 1.8V and supply voltages ranging from 1.65V to 5.5V. It is designed to be configurable and pin-compatible with other series of Maxim Integrated devices.

The MAX9371ESA+ is ideal for level shifting between low-power devices, such as FPGAs or ASICs, to high-power devices, such as SRAMs or application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The device supports up to four logic thresholds, including 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V, allowing it to interface to a wide range of logic families.

The MAX9371ESA+ operates over the full temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It features double data rate operation and automatic power-on reset (POR) for greater system reliability and accuracy. The device provides up to 6mA of output drive current, low power consumption of 5.5mW (typ), and low ground bounce of 120mV (typ) during switching.

The MAX9371ESA+ utilizes an easy-to-use configurable I/O interface. Internally, it supports both a single-ended input and output configuration and LVCMOS levels with integrated level translators. In addition, the outputs are internally pulled up or pulled down to ensure logic levels are properly maintained.

The MAX9371ESA+ supports intermediate logic voltage levels of 0.9V, 1.2V and 1.8V that enable the device to interface with a variety of logic line levels. To maximize flexibility, the device can be configured as either single-ended or differentially terminated for a variety of power, speed, and CMOS/LVCMOS applications.

The MAX9371ESA+ integrates an automatic power-on reset (POR) to ensure reliable system operation. During power-on, the voltage levels of all I/Os are checked to ensure they are properly set at the correct logic levels. In addition, an independent frequency generator is also used to generate a variety of frequencies from 25MHz to 600MHz, suitable for a variety of applications.

In addition, the MAX9371ESA+ utilizes two integrated operational amplifiers for output level shifting, allowing for the output signals to be shifted from one voltage level to another without the need for external components. This allows for much easier system integration and smoother design.
