Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are a great way to test and showcase new processes and technology without having to purchase full-scale tools and technology. The MAX9450EVKIT by Maxim Integrated is one such device that works to provide a method to readily assess the effects of signal path design, and more. This evaluation kit is able to quickly determine whether an embedded application is able to meet the desired signal conditions, as well as where Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) should be placed in the signal chain. It has a wide range of applications and is designed to help meet the requirements of many challenging signal path designs.
The MAX9450EVKIT is primarily used for evaluating signal integrity and dynamic range applications, and can evaluate high-performance signal processing requirements for difficult signal paths. It includes a high-frequency, high-performance evaluation board with four Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) detectors. The kit includes two precision 24-bit ADCs, along with a 24-bit D/A converter, allowing for simultaneous capture of high-resolution sine and low-level signals. Additionally, the MAX9450EVKIT evaluation board offers a wide range of gain, data access speeds and bandwidth options allowing for full flexibility in evaluating various signal path designs. Its versatility and performance makes it ideal for use in numerous industries that require development with flexible signal paths.
The MAX9450EVKIT is also equipped with an array of features to ensure it can meet a wide range of signal path problems. This includes a variable-gain amplifier (VGA) that provides both high-precision gain control and low harmonic distortion. An integrated onboard clock generator is included to allow users to easily test the effects of varying clock frequencies. In addition, the onboard VCO allows the user to adjust the gain of the clock signal in order to simulate noise or jitter in a given environment. The MAX9450EVKIT also includes several configurable test components such as waveform generators, jitter attenuators, and high-precision capacitors, allowing users to quickly develop different signal path configurations.
The MAX9450EVKIT evaluation board is designed to to provide a quick-to-access platform for engineers to iteratively develop a complex signal path and to assess the conditions needed for maximum performance.
