Working Principle

The MAX9586AZK+T is a dual low-power, precision, closed loop audio amplifier designed for 3DTV video applications. It features a DRC (Dynamic Range Control) mode which ensures optimal control of audio signals, thus providing a better listening experience. The amplifier also supports volume, bass and treble control, thus allowing users to customize the sound according to their needs and preferences. The MAX9586AZK+T offers two independent high-precision output channels with built-in filters that provide wide dynamic range.

The device uses a differential-input architecture and based on a hybrid PNP and NPN bipolar power transistor design, allowing it to provide clean and precise amplification with a low-noise floor. The MAX9586AZK+T operates from a single 5V supply and includes a low-voltage CMOS-controlled input amplifier, a differential-output amplifier, DC offsets, thermal shutdown and peak current protection.

The MAX9586AZK+T’s input amplifier consists of an NTSC/PAL standard amplifier with a full load output impedance of 330 Ω. The differential-output amplifier has an output dynamic range of 0.1 dB and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of -87 dB. The MAX9586AZK+T supports up to 8 kHz sampling frequency and is also compatible with sampling frequencies of up to 12 kHz and 14 kHz for full-range audio. The amplifier has an output power of 2W/channel into 8 Ω at a <1% THD. It can be used for Class D and Class BB designs.
