The MAX9644EVKIT+ includes an evaluation board populated with an audio amplifier schematic including the MAX9644 and power converters for a desktop PC, TV, or other portable electronic device. The evaluation board can be used to evaluate audio or video signals, allowing engineers to control the amplifier gain, frequency range, output power, and other parameters. Additionally, the board includes a built-in power converter for additional power outputs.The MAX9644 is an integrated solution for Class-D audio amplifiers, supporting both balanced and unbalanced operation and providing a maximum peak power of 5W. The amplifier includes a slew rate-limiting feature that minimizes crossover distortion and provides a wide dynamic range to eliminate high-frequency distortion. Additionally, the device integrates a full-bridge configuration, allowing engineers to easily configure different output power levels and speaker protection functions.The MAX9644 also includes a pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller that is controlled by the host microcontroller. When providing the input audio signal to the amplifier, the PWM controller modulates the signal to provide the desired speaker output. The PWM signal is then filtered to obtain a clean signal that is fed to the speaker output. The controller supports several modulated audio formats including two-level sine wave (256 steps) and mono-level stereo (16 steps).The MAX9644EVKIT+ includes a complete test and evaluation system powered by the MAX9644. This includes a power board, a speaker load board, and a set of test probes.
