The MAX96705GTJ/V+ is an Interface-Serializers, Deserializers device with a wide range of applications and many features. MAX96705GTJ/V+ is a full-duplex HD Timing Serializer designed for asynchronous and isochronous communication with dedicated lanes, such as SMPTE SDI-3.

The MAX96705GTJ/V+ features a row of 1.5V to 3.3V TTL/LVCMOS logic I/Os and an integrated PLL and oscillator ensuring that the device is clock-clean and frequency agile. It is optimized for low jitter, excellent phase noise and high-speed data transfer.

The device supports multi-rate configurations, allowing it to operate at data rates up to 3.7 Gb/s, with different low to high frequency at different ports. Maximum throughput rate is 535 Mbps. The MAX96705GTJ/V+ provides output data skew compensation, allowing maximum flexibility in signal routing and signal trace lengths up to 10m over quality cables.

At the heart of the MAX96705GTJ/V+ is an I2C/SPI interface, allowing configuration and software control of the device. It is programmed via commands and supports both direct and buffered control. A logic-low signal on the command-enable pin provides access to the I2C write/read mode. A logic-high signal on the command-enable pin disables the I2C control.

The MAX96705GTJ/V+ is powered by an integrated DC-DC converter that provides the supply voltage for the I/Os and internal circuitry. The device is designed to handle mild temperature fluctuations without performance degradation. The device features adjustable frequency range, Sleep Mode and Spread Spectrum Mode, providing the ability to significantly reduce switching and EMI noise.

The MAX96705GTJ/V+ is ideal for bidirectional communications between two HD devices, used in systems such as audio/video displays, projectors, digital video recorders, video splicing systems, and video switching systems. It is also used in applications where data loss is critical, such as medical imaging and test and measurement systems.

The MAX96705GTJ/V+ can support half-duplex and full-duplex modes and is highly configurable with a wide range of different output formats in accordance with the selected I/O. This gives the user the flexibility and advantages of a wide range of diverse applications.

In addition to the integrated PLL and oscillator, the MAX96705GTJ/V+ features an internal deserializers, allowing the user to deserialize received data from the serializer to an output format. The device offers an Auxiliary channel which is an optional channel intended for use in full-duplex applications.

The MAX96705GTJ/V+ supports all major HD formats, including HDMI, DVI, and HD-SDI, making it ideal for use in HD video recording and control systems. The device also supports a wide range of I/O levels, such as 3.3V and 1.8V TTLs, LVCMOS and LVDS, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

The MAX96705GTJ/V+ features a low-pin count, compact package and operates at 0°C to 85°C and -40°C to 85°C temperatures, making it ideal for space constrained designs. Its flexible architecture and advanced features, combined with its small size, make it the perfect choice for HD applications that demand low latency, low cost, and low power.
