The MAX9700AEUB+ is a single-supply audio power amplifier designed for a variety of audio applications like portable media players and mobile phones. The MAX9700 AEUB+ operates from a 4.2V to 5.5V single supply with a 60mW/channel output power into 32Ω load. It is capable of providing 1.2W/channel into 16Ω loads. This amplifier integrates an advanced boost converter that enables operation with a single or dual rail supply.
The high-performance MAX9700AEUB+ features a THD+N of –90dB, a SNR of 96dB, and an extended 20kHz frequency response. It also features a fast pop & click suppression scheme with an enable/disable control input.
The MAX9700AEUB+ almost eliminates the need for an external boost converter by supplying a PMOSFET driver, a high-voltage startup current source, and an overvoltage/overcurrent protection circuit with adjustable thresholds. This amplifier also integrates an internal thermal protection circuit.
The MAX9700AEUB+ is designed for very low power consumption. The amplifier provides a minimal 10μA quiescent current when the boost converter is disabled. When the input signals are high, the boost converter enables and it reduces the quiescent current to 25μA.
