The MAX9725CEBC+T is a digital-input audio system power amplifier designed for a range of entertainment systems and mobile audio applications. It is a low voltage Audio Boost Amplifier with a wide input voltage range of 2.7V-5.5V. The device offers power management, low power consumption and distortion-free audio amplification. The device features a digitally-controlled, low-noise pre-amplifier, post-amplifier and Audience Sensor with the highest SNR performance.
The MAX9725CEBC+T is a single-chip solution for audio enhancement for applications such as headphones, mini speakers, mobile phones and tablets. It features a wide 1.2V-5.0V operating voltage range, a low quiescent current and a low distortion pre-amplifier. The device has a low noise pre-amplifier with a frequency response up to 6.5kHz, making it more suitable for a range of portable audio system applications. The pre-amplifier is designed to provide maximum performance and high efficiency, while allowing the device to control a wide range of analog signals such as music and voice. The Audience Sensor, which is integrated into the device, provides the best in audio quality, while minimizing crosstalk.
The MAX9725CEBC+T’s post-amplifier helps to reduce distortion and also enhances fidelity by providing low distortion and low noise performance. It operates with a maximum output current of 800mA, enabling it to drive loads of up to 4 ohms. The high-efficiency Class D output stage is designed to provide maximum power with low distortion, for both highly harmonic-rich audio and low-power applications. The low distortion Class D post-amplifier is also capable of delivering up to 1V peak output level. The integrated output stage has a built-in slew rate boost control, which allows the device to drive inductive and capacitive loads with a high slew rate and improved efficiency.
The MAX9725CEBC+T also integrates advanced power control mechanisms such as the overload and over current protection, as well as a standby and mute function. The overload protection ensures that the amplifier remains stable under power conditions, and the mute function helps to provide a clean and quiet output. The overcurrent protection prevents short-circuiting and excessive current draw from the device, while the standby function helps to minimize power dissipation when not in use.
