MAX9989ETP-T RF system-on-chip devices are designed to provide a cost-effective solution D for short-range radio frequency (RF) applications. The integrated transceiver includes an on-board power amplifier, power detector, and receiver and transmitter low noise amplifiers, which allows for a simple, low-power, highly power efficient design.
The MAX9989ETP-T is a 900 MHz RF transceiver chip with integrated power amplifier, low-noise amplifier, and frequency hop-sequence generator. This integrated transceiver is designed to function as a one-chip comprehensive radio link for low-power, low-cost wireless sensors. It is also designed to optimize link reliability and maintain low-power operation.
The power amplifier module consists of a bias current circuit and a differential power amplifier designed to achieve linear operation. The power detector provides baseband signal sampling and dynamic range control. The receiver low noise amplifier consists of an input amplifier and a low-noise amplifier, both designed with optimized gain and linearity. The transmitter low noise amplifier consists of an input amplifier and an adjustable-gain, low-noise amplifier. The frequency hopping module generates a unique hopping sequence for each device from a set of 48 preselected channels. The hopping sequences are encrypted for security.
The MAX9989ETP-T is optimized to work in the 920-926 MHz frequency band with 20dBm output power and –104dBm of sensitivity. It is designed to support data rates up to 1Mbps in a 17dB bandwidth allocation. The device also supports frequency hopping, digital modulation, and frequency domain multiplexing modulation schemes.
The MAX9989ETP-T has a power-down mode in which it consumes less than 1 mW of power. This is ideal for applications with limited energy sources, such as battery-powered systems.
The MAX9989ETP-T can be used to transmit voice, data, digital signals, and video over wireless links. It is designed for applications such as building automation systems, industrial wireless, smart meters, wireless temperature monitoring and surveillance, and wireless sensor networks.
