Working Principle:

The MB12S-TP bridge rectifier consists of four diodes connected in a “bridge” configuration with an input at either end and an output at the other end, as illustrated:

The bridge rectifier has two input circuits and two output circuits. The bridge rectifier’s function is to convert the AC voltage into a DC voltage. The two AC inputs of the MB12S-TP bridge rectifier are connected to the respective ends of the input circuitry. When the AC input is applied to the input, one of the two diodes in that circuit becomes forward biased and the other becomes reverse biased. This causes the current to flow through the forward biased diode.

If the input ac voltage is positive, then the upper two diodes are forward biased while the lower two diodes become reverse biased and the current is conducted through them and flows from the left side of the MB12S-TP bridge rectifier to the right side. When the AC voltage reverses its from positive to negative, the upper two diodes become reverse biased, while the lower two diodes become forward biased and the current flows from the right side of the MB12S-TP bridge rectifier to the left side, thus converting the AC voltage to a DC voltage.
