MB2198-508-E is a specialized Evaluation Board and Kit that is designed to be used as an influential tool for both academic and practical purposes in regards to the development, design, evaluation and demonstration of various system-level and signal-level raw components and technologies. The 500-pin Quad-VCDev board includes a wide range of top-level Renesas ICs, as well as a comprehensive design and evaluation capability that provides accurate electrical measurements and fast prototyping. It offers a leadless, solderless socket board and a set of components and headers that facilitate prototyping and experimentation.The MB2198-508-E is based on the cutting edge Renesas Renesas SH72546F microcontroller. This high performance processor is capable of executing up to 8 MIPS instruction, and its embedded DMA controller supports second level cache in order to allow parts to rapidly access data. With the addition of the direct memory access (DMA) controller, this board is capable of significantly increasing the speed of executing instruction in a single thread.Furthermore, the MB2198-508-E supports many different communication interfaces, including SDRAM, parallel I/O, serial I/O, and USB. Depending upon application, users can benefit from the three external 3.3V PAL ports, plus two high speed USB ports for peripheral devices. UART, I2C, and SPI communication protocols are also supported, in addition to the on-board real-time clock (RTC).The MB2198-508-E board includes TI’s powerful MSP430 Launchpad programming and debugging toolkit for users to facilitate development and maximum efficiency of programs. Moreover, Support for the Code Composer Studio (CCS) and IAR Embedded Workbench tools for C/C++ and assembly level development are provided.The MB2198-508-E Evaluation Kit requires supply voltages of 3.3V to 5V, with a wide 10-bit ADC range that can sample from ±10V or ±1V to 5V. Moreover, the active energy monitor helps to reduce the power consumption and the low-noise output helps to reduce the power components connected to the board.In conclusion, the MB2198-508-E Evaluation Board and Kit is a great tool for both academics and practical applications.
