The MC10ELT28DR2 is a part of the MC10EL/100EL series of Logic - Translators and Level Shifters. It is designed to enable logic signals to be accurately transmitted and received and offers solutions for applications that require high speed and high power dissipation. The MC10ELT28DR2 is an 8-bit bidirectional level shifter, consisting of four parallel pairs of complementary NMOS transistors. Each pair of transistors, N24 and N25, is configured as a latch, to ensure that the data is held for a period of time. The two transistors are connected in series, and each series is switched from a master control pin, which controls the other 3 pairs of series transistors. All 4 pairs, when combined, form an 8-bit level shifter.

The MC10ELT28DR2 is designed to facilitate both uni-directional and bi-directional data transmissions. The level shifting can be performed in either direction, and the data is driven through transistor pairs N24 and N25. When the logic level is low, current flows in the same direction in both transistors, with the voltage being at a maximum. When the logic level is high, the voltage is at a minimum. This allows signals to be accurately transmitted in both directions, with minimal EMI noise.

The controller of the MC10ELT28DR2 is the digital control pin, which is used to select either uni-directional or bi-directional transmissions.
