MC10H602FNR2 is a logic-translator, level-shifter integrated circuit (IC) from ON Semiconductor. The device integrates two voltage-level compatible N-channel MOSFET linear ion-current translators for 3.3V to 5V and 5V to 3.3V bi-directional level shifting operations. This IC provides a low frequency level translation solution for Multi-Drop configurations and is especially suitable for the applications which require the fastest switching speed.The MC10H602FNR2 device is targeted for Consumer, Computer, Industrial and Automotive applications. On the consumer side, this IC helps improve the performance of remote-controlled devices that use 3.3v/5V logic levels such as Television, Radio, Audio Systems, Video Players, Cameras, etc. Similarly, on the computer side, this device helps in providing improved performances in application such as wireless communication, external interconnectivity including USB, etc. On the industrial side, this device helps in level shifting for industrial control systems and motor drives. Similarly, on the automotive side, MC10H602FNR2 helps in providing improved levels shifting for CAN bus, LIN bus and other busses.The MC10H602FNR2 device is implemented in 3-mm x 3-mm package and is protected against external conditions like ESD and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), making it suitable for a wide range of temperature (-40 ℃ to 125℃). The maximum rate of switching is 1MHz with a maximum delay of 625ns. In addition, the minimum input pulse width should be at least 100ns.Working Principle The MC10H602FNR2 IC contains an transistor-temperature-dependent logic-level translation circuit called FET-Lingo. The translation circuit is based on the same principle as Common Collector circuits. In Common Collector Circuit, a level shifter circuit uses an N-Channel MOSFET connected in series to the input signal and ground. The output side of the circuit connects to the input signal a resistive divider together with the other MOSFETs, a P-Channel device.The operation of the MC10H602FNR2 IC is based on the FET-Lingo. When an input signal is applied, it amplifies by the transistor-temperature-dependent FET-Lingo, which enables the current flow from an input supply to the output supply. The entire process of level shifting is based on the conduction characteristics of the device. The current conduction can be increased or decreased based on the temperature and specific design of the IC. The MC10H602FNR2 operates in both 3.3V to 5V and 5V to 3.3V bi-directional voltage level shifts, making it very useful in applications that involve different voltage range. This device also provides Increased noise immunity and improves system robustness through the usage of reducing external components.
